For this Digital Matte Painting the brief was to remove the river and the London Eye, then add the provided future-looking buildings.
Then with the provided footage, I completed the tracking, roto painted out the London Eye, placed all the buildings and filled in the river with trees.
The client, My teacher Steve Sexton, suggested I try something more, and push my newly acquired DMP skills, and use my 3D skills. I found an image of a pyramid and put them because I thought it looked cool. With a new theme set, I then continued to add more 3D old-style Egyptian buildings that I built-in 3D and textured and then added a canyon/crack down where the river was.
